Increase your Windows Speed!
If you browse the Net, you will find loads of advice on how to speed up Windows, ranging from system reinstallation to using Windows built-in solutions to downloading specialized software. However, before you get down to speeding up your system, you need to know the main reasons that cause the slowdown.
Too Many Useless Applications
An average PC owner does not use about 50% of applications installed on their computer. And in many cases these applications take up most disk space. Therefore it would be a nice idea to remove these programs using their built-in uninstallers or the Windows Control Panel. However, in some cases it doesn't help that much, as lots of useless files — log files, registry files, language packs etc. — are still left behind after you uninstall the unneeded programs. Therefore we advise you to try specialized software that will take care of such leftovers, so you don't miss anything.
Spyware
Spyware may sneak to your computer with free software downloads from online. This annoying occurence not only slows down your PC by launching hidden programs but also poses a serious threat to your computer's security. The solution to these problems are spyware removal tools.
"Defragmentation should be done at least once per week, or more often if the PC is used heavily."

Defragmentation takes too long, i have to waste the whole day to do it. what if i need my pc???
Can anyone advise similar programs for older PCs?
just found 4 gigs of junk with pckeeper - impressive!
I've always had problems with antivirus software, but not with PCKeeper. It's so easy to use and, most important, it has AUTOMATIC UPDATES! I don't have to download any activation keys!
2 Drumpy: I honestly tried to maintain my pc on my own, but recently I've given up, as it's a thankless job. A pc optimized is like a life-saving belt.
Nice advice, thanks for it!
Never had any optimizers on my pc but still it's doing good for almost three years!
I use Norton's Antivirus, Performance Toolkit's defragmenter and built-in Windows uninstaller. To have all of them in one is a tempting offer. Think I should try PCKeeper :)
